What this is. A single-purpose guide to getting online in Italy. No hotel widgets, no flight deals, one question answered properly: which eSIM fits your trip, and when no eSIM does. The picks come from comparing all 57 Italy plans from the six providers we can verify, on published facts: which Italian network each one rides, prices in USD, fair-use caps, hotspot rules and review records.

Why Italy needed its own site. Because the usual eSIM advice skips the two things that decide an Italian trip. First, Italy has four networks and they behave very differently once the road starts climbing, and only one travel eSIM we can link will tell you which one you are on. Second, Italy has some of the cheapest mobile data in Western Europe: a local SIM is €7.99 for 150GB while travel eSIMs sell 5GB for twelve dollars. A guide that ranks five brands without mentioning either fact is answering the wrong question. That is why those two pages exist.

Who runs it. An independent researcher who builds travel-connectivity guides. Not a mobile operator, not owned by or affiliated with any provider on these pages. When something here is wrong it gets fixed in the next update, and the methodology page shows exactly how the sausage is made, commission rates included.

Why trust a site with affiliate links? Do not, on our word alone. Check the receipts. Every price carries the date we verified it. Every network claim names the brand's own page as its source, and where a brand publishes nothing we write "not published" instead of repeating a blog. The biggest unlimited name in the category sits in our tables unlinked and unmonetized. An entire section of the home page tells long-stay travelers to buy a €7.99 local SIM we earn nothing from. And the most awkward one: our top pick pays us the second-highest rate of the brands we can link, and we say so at the top of the home page and again in full on the disclosure page, with the case against it published on its own review. A site optimising for commissions would do none of that.
