The support record is the actual product 4.7 from 30,542 reviews
We do not usually open a review with a Trustpilot number, because most of them are noise. Here the spread is wide enough to mean something.
| Brand | Trustpilot | Reviews | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saily | 4.7 | 30,542 | The best record in the category on a large sample. Replies to most negative reviews. |
| GigSky | 4.3 | 6,217 | Solid and uneventful, on a mid-sized sample. |
| Yesim | 4.3 | 2,942 | Same score, a tenth of the reviews, and a 2026 suspension in its history. |
| Airalo | 4.1 | 41,885 | The largest sample and the lowest score; about one review in six is a one-star. |
Nobody buys a support record on purpose, and on a five-day trip to Rome you will almost certainly never test it. It becomes the whole purchase in one situation: the profile does not install, or the data stops on a Sunday, and you are standing in a station with a train to catch. That is the scenario Saily's extra three dollars is insuring. Whether that is worth it is a judgement about your own tolerance, not a fact we can settle for you.

Saily is the clean answer to Italy plus Switzerland 39 countries, one profile
The single most common Italy data mistake is assuming Switzerland is covered. It is not in the EU, so it sits outside EU roaming rules and outside every Italy-only plan on this site.
That catches people on Lake Como day trips to Lugano, on the Bernina Express out of Tirano, on the Aosta Valley drive to Zermatt, and on any Dolomites route that crosses toward St Moritz. Your phone hunts, finds Swisscom or Salt, and either fails to attach or attaches at a roaming rate nobody quoted you.
Saily sells a Europe regional plan covering 39 countries with Switzerland among them, so the border stops being an event. Airalo sells a comparable regional bundle. Buying one regional plan instead of two country plans is usually within a couple of dollars either way, and it removes a real failure mode on a trip that crosses.
The Switzerland page works through the four ways to cover both countries, including the one where you buy nothing extra at all.
If Lugano, Zermatt or the Bernina Express is on the itinerary, a 39-country Europe plan is the version of this purchase that does not fail at the border.

Saily loses every row, usually by two to five dollars. We still list it third on the home page, because a 4.7 from 30,542 reviews, uncapped tethering and a Europe plan that covers Switzerland are three things none of the cheaper options offer together. Checked September 5, 2026.
Saily unlimited has the biggest allowance and the worst small print 5GB/day, then it depends
| "Unlimited" plan | Real daily high-speed cap | After the cap |
|---|---|---|
| Saily Unlimited (10 to 30 days, $34.99–$71.99) | 5GB/day | 1024 kbps for the rest of the day. That is the largest daily allowance of any unlimited plan for Italy, and 1 Mbps still carries maps and messaging. |
| Saily Unlimited (5 days, $18.99) | 5GB/day | 1 kbps. Not a typo and not the same product. At that speed the connection is effectively dead until midnight. Avoid the 5-day pack specifically. |
| Airalo Unlimited (3 to 30 days, $11.00–$64.00) | 3GB/day | 1 Mbps. A smaller allowance, published just as clearly, and cheaper at every length. |
| Yesim / Holafly Unlimited | none published | Neither brand publishes a daily figure for Italy at all. |
The 5GB daily allowance is genuinely the most generous here. The 5-day pack's 1 kbps throttle is the single worst piece of small print in this comparison, and it is Saily's own published figure rather than our inference. For most Italian trips a 20GB fixed plan at $23.99 to $28.99 beats every unlimited option on price anyway. Full comparison.
If you want the largest published daily allowance, this is it: 5GB a day. Buy the 10-day pack or longer and skip the 5-day one.
See Saily Unlimited Compare the capsHow to buy and install a Saily Italy plan four minutes on home wifi
- Check the handset. Dial *#06#. An EID means the phone takes an eSIM. A carrier-locked phone does not.
- Decide Italy-only or Europe first. If Switzerland, France or Spain are on the trip, the 39-country regional plan is the purchase, not the Italy one. If Italy is the whole trip, the country plan is cheaper.
- Install on home wifi before you fly. The plan starts counting on first connection in Italy, so installing early costs nothing.
- Land, switch data to the Saily line, leave the home line on with data roaming off. Tethering works without a separate allowance, so the laptop can share the same plan. Full setup guide.
Buy it if, skip it if the short version
| Buy Saily if | Skip Saily if |
|---|---|
| You are crossing into Switzerland and want one 39-country profile rather than two country plans | Price is the deciding factor, because Saily loses every size comparison here by one to five dollars |
| You are tethering a laptop for real work and do not want a separate hotspot ceiling | You want to know which Italian network you are on, because Saily publishes nothing |
| The support record is what you are buying: 4.7 from 30,542 reviews is the best here by a wide margin | Your trip is under a week, where Airalo’s short-dated plans are both cheaper and better shaped |
| You want the largest published unlimited allowance, at 5GB a day | You were about to buy the 5-day unlimited pack, which throttles to 1 kbps |
Questions on Saily in Italy
Is Saily good for Italy?
Yes, with one caveat and one gap. It has the best support record in the category, 4.7 from 30,542 Trustpilot reviews, allows hotspotting with no separate cap, and sells a 39-country Europe plan that includes Switzerland. The caveat is price: it is the most expensive brand here at every size above 1GB. The gap is that it publishes nothing about its Italian network.
Which network does Saily use in Italy?
Saily does not publish it. Travel guides will assert one operator or another; Saily's own materials do not say, and we do not treat a repeated blog claim as a network agreement. If knowing matters, Yesim names TIM, Vodafone and WindTre and is $2.40 cheaper at 10GB.
Does Saily work in Switzerland?
The Italy-only plan does not, because Switzerland is outside the EU and outside that plan's coverage. Saily's 39-country Europe plan does include Switzerland, which is the main reason to choose Saily for a trip that crosses the border.
Is Saily unlimited really unlimited in Italy?
No. You get 5GB a day at full speed, the largest published daily allowance for Italy, then 1024 kbps. One important exception: the 5-day pack throttles to 1 kbps instead, which is effectively no connection at all. Buy the 10-day pack or longer.
Can I hotspot with a Saily Italy plan?
Yes, and it is one of its genuine advantages. Tethered data draws from the same allowance with no separate hotspot ceiling. Holafly, by contrast, caps sharing at 1GB a day regardless of plan, which is the binding constraint for anyone travelling with a laptop.
Saily or GigSky for Italy?
GigSky on price, by $3.20 at 10GB and $5.00 at 20GB, and it lets you test 500MB free first. Saily if you are crossing into Switzerland, tethering seriously, or you want the review record. Neither publishes its Italian network.
